Everyone Knows Writer's Read!

Hello.

Jade and I (Scarlet), are writing stories/novels/ect. We are here to spread our book obsessions and complaints to the internet. We both read and write excessively, it's just what we do. Our styles are exceedingly different, though. Jade and I are attempting to refine our writing skills, and you, our wonderful readers, are there to help us through our "rough spots", and aid us in our journey. You will get to read as we write ourselves to insanity and spend many late nights typing until our fingers feel like they are going to fall off, our eyelids are drooping, and we blog in Pepsi fueled rantings.

Despite what some people think, writing is no easy feat and we have discovered (from the multiple unfinished stories in our Word folders) that coming up with ideas and producing a not-so crappy story is harder than you may think. So began the story challenges, which came from Scarlet and I compiling our unusual tastes to "create works of art" says Scarlet, as I roll my eyes. Actually we put our ideas for stories that we are considering writing, and lack the ability to complete without a motivator in The Story Challenges. This started a couple months ago, with The Dungeon Challenge, a.k.a our chance to finally create the smutty, threesome vamp story we've always secretly dreamed of writing.

For the most part, that is indeed what we are doing. However, we easily get off track and tend to rant on end about whatever is plaguing us daily. I know this all sounds like some great jumbled mess because as I type I have Jade talking over my shoulder, and we are constantly switching seats and trying to spit out whatever the hell we're trying to say. And now I've gone and lost my train of thought. Thank you, Jade. Fear not, though, dear reader, Jade and I will not be sharing every post, we just thought it imperative to write the first together. After each blog entry, we will sign our names, telling you who's been writing.

Jade here. The story challenge ideas are scraped from the twisted, hilarious, angst-y, romantic, or paranormal edges of our imaginations, and thrown on paper. Or at least, that's how I put it. We determine the length, the genre, and occasionally the setting or characters before we begin writing. Then, we assign ourselves a due date. Our stories are written individually, the point of the challenges are just to keep us on track and motivated. We decided that now, we should make our challenges public.

It just so happens that today, we have decided on a new challenge. Scarlet and I agreed to each try to write 900 to 1000 words a day so our [hopefully] daily posts will begin with a word count for the day and then an overall word count. We will keep you updated on our progress with each challenge, post excerpts, and we promised each other to mention if we relapse.

WARNING:
Our challenges, mostly paranormal in genre, will contain explicit sexual content in addition to profanity. Some of the sexual content will be slash (gay), and I urge you: if you are offended or uncomfortable with situations of that nature, to simply skip the entry. We will try to warn you in advance if such content appears in our posting. Flamers? Honestly. You were warned, read at your own risk.

This has been our First Post:

Sincerly, or as much as we can be,

The 'REAL' Bibliophiles,

Scarlet Carson and Jade Black.
