Oopsie

Word count: 1018 Total word count: 4056

Okay, okay, so I skipped a day. Shit happens, I was busy and tired. I'm farther ahead than Jade anyway. So, today was the first day I actually had to think about how to stretch my sentences so that they'd have more words in them so I could meet my quota. I adore writing. I hate writing boring parts. The first chapter, when it's a "proper" length, I find to be quite boring. Trust me, had I my way, I'd make chapters four pages long. Sadly, I promised myself I wouldn't rush ahead. So, at ten pages in, I'm still writing the first fucking chapter (oops, profanity).

What I'd give to know where the hell it's going. If I'm getting bored at my own story, god knows how readers would feel about it. That's why I find it convenient to place only excerpts from it in this blog. That way you see my talents, and neither of us gets bored. Speaking of excerpts, here's my choice for today:

He was so utterly...feminine. His dimpled cheeks, his tanned skin, his large, brightly-colored eyes, he was just too much. Dana looked utterly enchanted.

Short, I know, but I'm not particularly happy with a whole lot of what I did today, plus there's a lot of dialogue in it. This part I chose is when a prince from a different land comes to their palace and they're eying him up. In the Succubus/Incubus culture (that I made up), masculinity resides in paleness (for your skin tone, I'm not racist!) dark eyes, long, dark hair, and dark clothing. Colours are considered feminine. Essentially, I'm just against Abercrombie-and-Fitch-looking men. Ugh. Vanilla bland.

So, I'm done for the day. I've got all my ranting out and you've got your tiny excerpt (I promise a better one tomorrow, I plan on writing a sex scene. Ohh, it'll make you melt).

Write you tomorrow,

Scarlet Carson.
